Sustainability

At NUCHAR we are aware of need to maintain the balance of the environment, which is one of the most important challenges to which we are committed. Our goal is to try to keep our impact on the world's ecosystems and habitats as low as possible. NUCHAR is the first brand in Spain certified for chain of custody by the MSC for COOKED OCTOPUS.

BIO

The term “ecological” or “BIO” refers to the food production that combines the best environmental practices, a high level of biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources.

At NUCHAR our raison d’être – is the sea, and therefore we are aware of the need to take care not only of the oceans but also of the environment that surrounds us.

HEALTHY SUSTAINABLE FISHERY

For NUCHAR has always been very importantthat the raw materials that are used to produce our products were sustainable. In 2019 NUCHAR has become the stakeholder at an international pre-operational platform called Global Octopus Supplier Round Table and since then, NUCHAR has been sponsoring sustainability projects especially in Africa: Morocco and Mauritania, such as the FIP for sustainable octopus fishing being carried out in Mauritania.

OPTIMIZATION AND SUSTAINABILITY OF PACKAGING

We only use 100% recyclable plastics.Substitution of plastic labeling for sustainable cardboard labels.We use FSC certified cardboard, a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible forest management around the world.
